Program Schedule:

Career Preparation Elective
4 weeks
To participate in the  Career Preparation Activity, you must first be accepted to and complete the Career Preparation Elective. The Career Preparation Elective will help you:

• Learn to write a professional American-style resume and cover letter
• Develop successful interview skills
• Discover your strengths and weaknesses
• Develop your knowledge of U.S. business culture

Career Preparation Activity
8+ week experience in a U.S. company
After completing the Career Preparation Elective, you can continue your Practical English or Professional Skills studies and be placed in a U.S. company around your class schedule. Intrax can schedule your placement activity for 10-15 hours per week around your Intrax class hours.

• Practice your English with Americans in the workplace
• Use your skills on projects important to the host company
• Develop interview skills and build confidence

Requirements: 

• F-1 visa
• 12 week minimum enrollment
• Intrax Level 6 English
• Must be enrolled in the Standard Schedule during host company placement 

IMPORTANT NOTE: The Career Preparation Activity is an unpaid host company placement that accompanies your academic program. You must be on an F-1 student visa. The U.S. Department of State requires that official “internships” occur on a J-1 visa, not within an English language program.
