Experience an American Workplace
Practice your English and explore your professional interests by spending your afternoons and/or Fridays in an American workplace where you can interact with Americans in a professional setting.
Program Schedule:
Career Preparation Elective
4 weeks
To participate in the Career Preparation Activity, you must first be accepted to and complete the Career Preparation Elective. Through the Career Preparation you will:
- Learn how to write a professional American-style resume and cover letter
- Develop successful interview techniques
- Discover your core strengths and weaknesses
- Develop your knowledge of American business practices
Career Preparation Activity
8+ week experience in an American workplace
After completing the Career Preparation Elective, you can continue your Practical English or Professional Skills studies in the morning and be placed in an American workplace in the afternoons and/or Fridays. Intrax can schedule your placement activity for 10-15 hours per week around your core program & class hours.
Final Presentation and Graduation
After you complete your Career Preparation Activity placement, an Intrax advisor will help you prepare a professional presentation to share with your peers at Intrax and with potential employers as part of your online portfolio.
IMPORTANT NOTE: You must be on an F-1 student visa. The U.S. Department of State requires that official “internships” occur on a J-1 visa, not within an English language program. For information on Intrax’s extensive full-time J-1 internship programs, visit our US Internships Page.
